Miracles Hair Design and Salon is the culmination of years of passion and hard work on the part of our founder, Takaya Cunningham Maddox, and her team of skilled stylists and technicians.
Our salon opened in its current location in 2005, but the Miracles story began for Takaya at age fifteen when she began styling for members of her family. Her love for hair design remained a driving force in her life throughout from high school all the way through college. She attended Alabama A&M University where she received a B.S. degree in Business Management with a minor in Computer Science. Takaya continued styling for friends and fellow students in her dorm room as well as traveling home on the weekends to build a clientele. Her skills earned her dorm room the nickname “Miracles”, and her salon is still endorsed under the same name today.
After completing her degree, Takaya continued her education in the field of beauty, and is currently a licensed, Managing Cosmetologist. Her twenty years of experience in styling and management has prepared her for her current role as the CEO and Owner of Miracles Hair Design & Salon, Inc. She demands the best from her staff, and encourages their professional development. She aspires to become a better leader and better example. Takaya has chosen to lead by example and has recently returned back to school as a Student Instructor. She is expected to receive her Instructor’s License Fall 2015.
While matriculating through school, Takaya envisioned a plan of having multiple salon locations. Her vision includes, but not limited to salons all over the state and stretching to other states including Atlanta, Georgia, and Texas. Her vision became a reality in May 2009, when she opened Miracles Hair Design & Salon of Alabaster located in Shelby County, Alabama. With the desire to serve a growing region with that special Miracles’ touch, we offer the same variety of excellence in hair care services.
While her personal commitment and drive have contributed to her accomplishments, Takaya attributes her success to her relentless faith in God, whose gifts, strength, and confidence have sustained her along the way. She is the epitome of what perseverance and determination can accomplish when coupled with prayer, vision, and planning.
Although Takaya has a personal commitment to Miracles, her clients make working a joy. Her greatest desire is for her clients to be pleased and have an overall pleasant experience while being serviced at Miracles. Although her clients inspire her, Takaya is greatly inspired by her family. Her greatest inspiration is her husband, Anthony Maddox. On March 1, 2014, she made the monumental decision to marry the love of her life. Together, they aspire to propel Miracles to the next level.
